Professional Shock Mount for Schoeps CCM and Collette Series

The RAD-1 Shock Mount represents a specialized suspension system engineered specifically for Schoeps CCM and Collette series microphones. This professional-grade mounting solution addresses the critical requirement for vibration isolation in broadcast and field recording applications where handling noise can compromise audio quality.

The mount features a distinctive all-black and grey matte finish, eliminating reflective surfaces that could interfere with video production. This colour specification was developed specifically for broadcast environments where equipment visibility must be minimized.

Schoeps Microphone Compatibility

This schoeps ccm cmc shock mount lemo configuration provides direct compatibility with Schoeps CCM capsules paired with amplifiers CMC1-U, CMC1-L, and CMC1-K. The mount also accommodates CMC6, CMC6-XT, CMC6/CUT60, and CMD42 variants when used with standard microphone foam for wind protection. For applications requiring heavier slide-on wind protection systems, the manufacturer recommends the RAD-2 variant.

The specialized 8mm rear clip accommodates Schoeps Lemo connectors without modification, maintaining the secure connection required for professional broadcast operations. This connector accommodation ensures proper cable management while preserving the electrical integrity of the microphone signal path.

Dual-Firmness Hoop System

Each mount includes two sets of isolation hoops with different firmness characteristics. The standard firmness hoops (black) provide balanced isolation suitable for general boom operation and controlled environments. The softer hoops (dark grey) offer enhanced isolation for applications requiring maximum vibration damping, such as handheld operation or environments with significant mechanical vibration.

This dual-firmness approach allows operators to optimize isolation characteristics based on specific recording conditions and handling requirements. The interchangeable design enables rapid configuration changes without requiring additional tools or mount disassembly.

Manufacturing and Construction

The mount utilizes thermoplastic elastomers produced through high-precision injection moulding in an ISO-9000 certified facility. This manufacturing approach ensures consistent dimensional accuracy and material properties across production runs. The thermoplastic elastomer construction provides resistance to environmental degradation while maintaining elastic properties under varying temperature conditions.

All components are manufactured in England, ensuring quality control standards appropriate for professional broadcast equipment. The injection moulding process eliminates the dimensional variations associated with 3D printing or hand-fabricated components.

Microphone Clip Configuration

The mount comes equipped with two dark grey rubber-coated universal microphone clips for standard microphone body accommodation. The rubber coating provides grip without marking microphone finishes, while the universal design accommodates slight variations in microphone body dimensions.

The additional 8mm uncoated clip specifically addresses Lemo connector requirements, providing secure retention without interfering with connector operation. This clip configuration eliminates the need for adapter hardware or modification of standard mounting procedures.

XLR Integration and Positioning

The 360-degree rotatable XLR holder enables precise cable positioning without compromising mount stability. This rotation capability accommodates various boom pole configurations and operator preferences while maintaining consistent microphone positioning relative to sound sources.

The XLR holder design isolates cable movement from the microphone suspension, preventing cable-induced vibrations from reaching the microphone capsule. This isolation is particularly important in dynamic recording environments where cable movement is unavoidable.

Professional Workflow Integration

In broadcast environments, the mount integrates with standard boom pole threading and quick-release systems. The compact profile minimizes visual intrusion in video production while providing the isolation performance required for professional audio capture.

For field recording applications, the mount accommodates the handling patterns typical of documentary and location recording work. The dual-firmness hoop system allows adaptation to varying operator techniques and environmental conditions without requiring equipment changes.

Care and Maintenance

The thermoplastic elastomer construction requires minimal maintenance beyond periodic inspection for wear or damage. The material resists common environmental contaminants and can be cleaned with standard broadcast equipment cleaning solutions.

The interchangeable hoop design enables replacement of individual components without complete mount replacement, supporting long-term serviceability in professional operations. Spare hoops and clips are available separately for operational continuity.
